Today we have rounded off a fantastic half term with a trip to Haytor Quarry! The young people amazed us with their resilience as they continued our hike even in very strong winds and rain . Despite the soggy weather our learners used their navigational skills to lead us around a circular route where we saw the towering tor and ventured through the tranquil quarry . Peers encouraged one another and showed fantastic friendships as they encouraged each other to keep walking, even at the steepest points of the walk.
This trip marked the end of our term’s topic where we learnt all about Devon. We have found out information about man-made and natural landmarks across the county and the young people enjoyed seeing a location which they have been learning about, in real life.
If you are passing us during the half term holidays be sure to make a stop at ‘Bale’s Farm Shop’. The young people have been busily making apple chutney to stock the shelves; this is available for purchase at £2.50 for a small jar and £3.50 for a large jar. We also have fresh eggs for sale from our chickens and ducks.
We wish you a wonderful half term break and look forward to welcoming learners back on Monday 19th February at 12.15.
